Spicy Garlic-Chili Ground Beef
A fifteen-minute, four-serving ground beef base with garlic, chili, and a splash of acid.
Yield: four servings, about 15 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 lb 85/15 ground beef
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
- 1-2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp vinegar or lime juice
- Optional: 1 tsp chili flakes or 1 tbsp chili crisp
Method
- Heat a wok or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add oil and beef.
- Break the beef into small pieces and brown 4-5 minutes until fat renders.
- Add garlic for 30 seconds.
- Add dry spices and bloom in the fat for one minute.
- Add soy sauce, acid, and optional extra chili.
- Cook 1-2 minutes until edges crisp.
